Health Care Services

Brookridge Retirement Community offers a number of preventative health services. We also provide different levels of nursing and assisted living care, so that if you become ill, you will receive the appropriate care based on your needs. Brookridge provides clinic and emergency services, arrangements for hospitalization, prescription drug service, home care services and therapy services

At the heart of Brookridge health care services is the understanding that as individuals face changes in their lives, a caring professional staff will be there to provide a diversified program of health care services tailored to their individual needs.

Medical Services

Medical Services are available for both Assisted Living and Nursing residents.

Brookridge Retirement Community employs a 24-hour, on-call medical doctor who visits the facility weekly to treat residents in Nursing and Assisted Living. Residents who need lab work or X-rays may receive those onsite. A podiatrist visits the facility bi-monthly to treat foot related medical problems.

A dentist visits the facility every six months to treat residents’ dental needs.

Brookridge Retirement Community provides physical, speech and occupational therapy services for all residents (Part A & B are accepted). Restorative Care is also provided for residents to assist them in restoring skills lost through disuse or changes in physiology.

An interdisciplinary care plan team consisting of the Care Plan Coordinator (RN), Activity Director, Social Worker and Dietary Manager, meets on a regular basis to discuss each resident’s care and to decide the appropriate was to treat each condition.

Assisted Living

Assisted Living resident maintain a high degree of independence while receiving special care tailored to their individual needs. Services included the following.

  • Private room with Full Bath with European Shower

  • Three Nutritious Meals per day
  • Between- Meal Nourishments
  • Daily Housekeeping
  • Personal Laundry Facilities available
  • Linen Service
  • Routine Transportation for Shopping and Medical Appointments

Clinic Services

As part of the general services package offered to Brookridge Independent Living Residents, there will be regularly scheduled clinic hours supervised by registered nurses, providing the opportunity for on-site blood work, x-rays as well as physician and podiatry visits.

Emergency Services

Pulling an emergency pull switch in your apartment home will summon help immediately. Switch board staff, security guards and nurses are on duty 24 hours a day. The physician who services Brookridge is available for on campus appointments and emergency consultation.

Nursing Care Services

Brookridge provides skilled nursing and intermediate level nursing care via the Prince Nursing Center. Care may be provided during short-term illness or after hospitalization for a recuperative period of time (i.e. broken bones or post-surgery). Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants provide care to those in the Nursing Center. Medicare or Medicaid may pay for your entire stay. Services include the following.
