The Center for Thriving Children Earns Five-Star Rating

The Center for Thriving Children at Brookridge has achieved a new milestone: a five-star childcare license, the highest honor in the state.
We’re thrilled that such high-quality care is available for Brookridge’s team members through ThriveMore’s partnership with Imprints Cares.
We know that many of our team members are caregivers who need access to reliable and affordable childcare. So ThriveMore built the center on our property at Brookridge and then partnered with Imprints Cares to run it.
The well-respected nonprofit has served children and families in Winston-Salem since the 1960s, and they’ve brought their decades of experience to the Center for Thriving Children, providing an incredible asset to the Brookridge community. Although they serve the wider community too, they remain open extended hours for Brookridge team members and reserve priority placement for the team.
The Baptist Retirement Homes Foundation provides funds to supplement the cost of childcare at Brookridge. The subsidy is offered on a sliding scale based on household income for the children and grandchildren of team members.
The center offers full-day care for infants through age 5, and this summer hosted summer camps for elementary-aged children.
Brookridge Resident Services Coordinator Danie Haefele sent her daughter to summer camp at the Center for Thriving Children. She said her experience was top tier and her daughter had a wonderful time, staying busy and engaged while making new friends.
“Each staff member was so attentive and really cared about each child and getting to know them,” Danie said. “She asked about going back next summer and we will absolutely be back for summer camp next year. As an employee of Brookridge, I was so thankful to have her close to me this summer with great quality childcare.”
The center’s five-star rating is the highest quality designation from the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education, which is responsible for licensing childcare facilities throughout the state. They base their star ratings on staff education and program standards, so that it’s clear which childcare centers go above and beyond with high quality care.
