Dining Experiences and Nutrition at Brookridge

Mealtimes at Brookridge are built around more than nutrition alone. Each day gives residents a reason to gather with friends, try something new, and enjoy food prepared with care. Under the direction of Executive Chef Eric Nooe, the dining program at this Winston-Salem Life Plan Community blends fresh, local ingredients with a welcoming, social atmosphere that residents look forward to every day.
A Chef-Led Approach to Every Meal
Chef Nooe brings a hands-on philosophy to the kitchen, one built around cooking demonstrations, heart-healthy recipes, and a creative approach to the menu. Fresh, local ingredients form the foundation of dishes designed to be both flavorful and nourishing, and the result is food that residents genuinely want to eat rather than food chosen only because it is good for them.
Two Distinct Dining Venues
Residents at Brookridge can choose the setting that fits their day. The Main Dining Room offers friendly, personal service and a rotating weekly menu alongside an always-available à la carte selection. It is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, with a Grande Brunch Buffet served on Sundays for a more leisurely weekend gathering.
For a more casual option, the Magnolia Cafe serves cook-to-order breakfast, salads, deli sandwiches, and homemade soup Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is a comfortable spot to grab a quick bite or settle in with a neighbor over coffee. Residents celebrating a special occasion also have the option of a private dining room, available for family gatherings and milestone events.
Nutrition Woven Into Everyday Wellness
Nutrition at Brookridge is part of the broader wellness approach the community follows for every resident, rather than a separate program layered on top of the dining experience. Well-balanced menu choices are paired with fitness classes, preventive health screenings, and personalized wellness plans coordinated by the community's Wellness Coordinator, so residents get consistent support for both body and mind.
This integrated approach means a resident managing a heart-healthy diet or simply looking to eat better does not have to navigate it alone. The culinary and wellness teams work together, and the variety of menu options makes it easier to find choices that fit individual needs without sacrificing flavor or enjoyment.
Dining as a Social Experience
Good food is only part of what makes mealtimes meaningful at Brookridge. Sharing a table with friends, catching up over lunch, or hosting family for a Sunday brunch all contribute to a sense of connection that residents describe as one of the most valued parts of daily life in the community. In the Main Dining Room and the Magnolia Cafe alike, every meal builds relationships alongside good nutrition.
