New restaurant opens at Brookridge

At ThriveMore, we’re always innovating and making things better for our residents. The new dining experience on our Brookridge campus is a perfect example of the excellence we are striving for.
The change was a direct result of listening to feedback – both verbal and written feedback cards – from residents about dining options on campus.
“We read every single card, and once we start noticing trends is when we make decisions,” said Eric Nooe, ThriveMore's Corporate Executive Chef. “We take resident feedback very seriously and it dictated the direction of the menus.”
Residents have lots of options for dining – our campus is competing with local restaurants. So we’ve stepped up.
The Azalea, a new dining experience, opened this week at Brookridge, offering a whole menu of new options for residents.
“It’s all over just kind of an elevation of our Independent Living over here,” said Shane Hamilton, Brookridge’s Culinary Director. The expansive menu features about 30 items, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and seasonal fare. There will also be daily chef specials.
The dining room has been transformed – now it feels like a restaurant, including a new hostess stand and a digital point-of-sale system. The changes are also meant to allow servers to spend more time with residents.
“I mean that’s the goal of it all, is I want the servers to spend more time with the residents,” Eric said. He this new format feels less transactional. “We want it to feel like you’re offering a service for a family member.”
Community Hospitality Manager Tequila Green said the new menu gives residents wonderful options.
“We’re trying to cultivate an experience that will have people coming back time and time again,” she said. Tequila recommends you try the potstickers appetizer or the fettuccini alfredo (her personal favorite).
